*Program Rules & Description: This program will award (1) field trip grant to a teacher/school for approximately 67 students and 8 chaperones to the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. The grant will be made in the form of a $1,700 Schools Financial counter check to the recipient school principal and presented in person at the recipient school. The school principal must agree to be a Learning Adventure Field Trip Grant recipient. All of the selected teacher’s students will have the opportunity to attend the field trip, plus additional students to be selected by the principal, up to a maximum of approximately 67 students.
Applications will be evaluated by a judging panel based on the following criteria: 1) the level of specificity in the written entry describing what STEAM concepts students will learn, and the other ways that students will benefit from this field trip; 2) the percentage of the school’s student body utilizing free or reduced cost meals; 3) location of the school to determine that it is within our field of membership and; 4) the total number of applications submitted on behalf of each school.

The program will run from March 11, 2019, to March 31, 2019. Award grant recipient will be notified by April 8, 2019, and agree to have their photo taken and allow Schools Financial Credit Union to use the image without restriction in promotional materials. If a grant recipient does not respond to the selection notification within five business days, an alternative recipient may be chosen.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older; limit one application per applicant. Schools Financial Credit Union employees and their family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members are not eligible. Grant applicants do not need to be members of Schools Financial to apply or win. Recipients are responsible for any applicable taxes.
