Message for Recipients of Social Security Benefits

Effective March 1, 2013, all recipients of Social Security benefits must receive their benefits electronically via direct deposit. If you do not sign up for direct deposit of your Social Security benefits, the U.S. Department of the Treasury may send your benefits in the form of a Direct Express® card. The Direct Express card is a debit card that can be used to access your benefits.

If you choose to receive your benefits via debit card, please visit the website of the Social Security Administration to read about how the card can be used and the potential fees involved. If you would like to setup direct deposit of your Social Security benefits to your Schools account, please visit any branch or call 916-569-5400 (Sacramento area) or 800-962-0990.
